Terms & Conditions

The policies that govern private event bookings with DJ J-Tux — clear, fair, and designed to protect your celebration and the performance behind it.

Last updated: November 2026 · For event-specific terms, refer to your booking agreement.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions govern the engagement of DJ entertainment, MC hosting, sound reinforcement, and event production services provided by J-Tux Productions (“J-Tux,” “we,” “us”). By submitting an inquiry, paying a deposit, signing a booking agreement, or otherwise confirming a booking, you (“the Client,” “you”) accept and agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Services

J-Tux provides open-format DJ entertainment tailored to private events, including weddings, corporate celebrations, birthdays, quinceañeras, bar and bat mitzvahs, anniversaries, and private parties. Unless expressly agreed in writing, each engagement is customized and may include DJ performance, MC hosting, music planning, sound reinforcement, dance floor lighting, uplighting, ceremony audio, and sound equipment rental.

All inclusions, set durations, start and end times, and equipment are confirmed in your individual booking agreement. Nothing on this website constitutes a guarantee that any particular service or piece of equipment is included in your specific package.

3. Booking & Availability

Bookings are confirmed only once a signed agreement and any required deposit have been received. Until then, a date is held provisionally and may be offered to another Client. J-Tux reserves the right to decline any booking.

Event dates and times are not guaranteed until confirmed in writing. J-Tux will make every reasonable effort to accommodate schedule changes, though availability for rescheduled dates is not guaranteed.

4. Deposit & Payment

A deposit is required to secure your date and is outlined in your booking agreement. The deposit is generally non-refundable, as it reserves the date and prevents other bookings. The remaining balance is due on or before the date specified in your agreement.

Additional services requested after booking, extended performance time, and travel or lodging for destination events may incur additional fees, which will be communicated and agreed in writing before they are added.

5. Cancellation & Rescheduling

Cancellations must be submitted in writing. Because a confirmed booking reserves the date and turns away other work, deposits are typically non-refundable. Cancellations made within a defined window of the event date may be subject to additional fees, as detailed in your booking agreement.

If you need to reschedule, J-Tux will make every effort to accommodate the new date subject to availability. Rescheduling is not guaranteed and may be treated as a new booking if the new date cannot be accommodated.

6. Client Responsibilities

The Client is responsible for providing accurate event details, including date, start and end times, venue access, load-in and sound-check windows, and any venue restrictions (noise curfews, power limitations, vendor policies).

The Client must secure all necessary permissions, permits, and licenses for the event and is responsible for ensuring the venue can accommodate the agreed services. Venue-specific requirements that prevent J-Tux from performing as agreed may affect the engagement.

7. Performance & Music Direction

J-Tux is a professional open-format DJ and retains discretion over the musical flow, transitions, and energy management of the event, while incorporating your requested songs, genres, and do-not-play lists wherever possible. The goal is always to read the room and keep the experience moving.

Set durations, breaks, and end times are governed by the booking agreement. Overtime or performance beyond the agreed end time, when permitted by the venue, may be billed at a rate specified in your agreement.

8. Equipment & Production

J-Tux maintains professional-grade equipment, which may include QSC K.12 speakers, a Harbinger VARI subwoofer, and a Gig Bar Move lighting system. The specific equipment used at your event is tailored to the venue, guest count, and agreed services, and is not guaranteed to be identical to what is described on this website.

J-Tux is not liable for failures or limitations caused by venue power supply, structural constraints, or third-party equipment. Reasonable backup and contingency planning is standard practice, but equipment performance is ultimately subject to conditions outside of J-Tux’s control.

9. Travel & Destination Events

J-Tux is available for events worldwide. Travel, lodging, and ground transportation for destination or traveling engagements are discussed and agreed individually and are outlined in your booking agreement when applicable.

The Client is responsible for any agreed travel, accommodation, or per-diem costs specified in the agreement.

10. Media, Photos & Promotional Use

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, J-Tux may use non-identifying event photography, short video clips, and audio samples for portfolio, social media, and promotional purposes. Requests to restrict media use or to keep an event private should be made in writing before the event date.

The Client is responsible for securing any media releases required from their guests or venue.

11. Liability

J-Tux carries general liability appropriate to event entertainment. To the maximum extent permitted by law, J-Tux’s liability for any claim arising from services is limited to the fees paid for the specific engagement. J-Tux is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

The Client agrees to indemnify J-Tux against claims arising from the Client’s event, venue, or guests that are outside of J-Tux’s reasonable control.

12. Changes to These Terms

J-Tux may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking confirmation governs your engagement. Any terms specific to your event that differ from these Terms are set out in your individual booking agreement and take precedence for that engagement.

13. Questions & Contact

Questions about these Terms & Conditions, your booking, or any agreement should be directed to J-Tux Productions. Reaching out is always welcome — we want every detail of your event to be clear before the music starts.
